Airbnb is a great option when traveling, especially if you have kids. Airbnb rentals are usually bigger than hotel rooms (you can rent an entire house in many locations!) and come with more family-friendly amenities such as full kitchens, swimming pools and yards. They’re also often very budget friendly, but there is a way you can save even more with this awesome Airbnb discount. Keeping reading!
How to get an Airbnb Discount
If you use this link while signing up for Airbnb, you can save $40 off your home booking, plus $15 to use toward an experience worth $50 or more. Such a steal! Already have an Airbnb account? You can have a spouse or other family member coming on your trip sign up to get the Airbnb discount, or you can use a different email to make a new account.
5 reasons to book an Airbnb
The price for booking is usually already great before you add the Airbnb discount above, especially for the value. For example, my husband and I got an Airbnb condo in a Las Vegas hotel for 3 nights for less than $300. We didn’t have to pay any resort fees, which are usually an extra $50 a night in Vegas hotels. Our room even had a little kitchenette (fridge, stovetop, dishwasher) AND a beautiful bathroom with a jetted tub, which you normally can’t find in Vegas unless you’re willing to shell out the bucks. Book our Vegas condo Airbnb at the Palms Resort & Spa here.
A quick search on Airbnb for Manhattan brings up a variety of places to stay! You can choose anything from a private bedroom in the host’s apartment, or an entire apartment, with prices ranging from $65-$225 on the first page of results. There’s also a section specifically for “places to stay with a kitchen.”
A Great Option for Large Groups & Families
Airbnb is honestly probably your best choice when it comes to finding a place to stay if you’re traveling with a larger group. When my family took a trip to Moab, Utah recently we found an Airbnb with 3 bedrooms and a full kitchen in a nice neighborhood, which perfectly fit our group of 5 adults and my baby. Book our Moab house here.
And if you also have babies and/or kids, Airbnb rentals are great because if you get a house, you won’t have to worry about bothering other guests next door.
Airbnb has a program called “Superhost,” which celebrates and rewards Airbnb’s top-rated and most experienced hosts. This helps when booking, because you’ll be able to see if your host is a Superhost or not. Superhosts are required to have at least a 4.8 rating, 10+ stays in the past year, no cancellations in the part year, and a 90% response rate of new messages within 24 hours. We booked with a Superhost for both our Vegas and Moab trips and had wonderful experiences. Our Superhost for our Vegas Airbnb had excellent communication and she responded quickly to emails when we had an issue checking in. She also let us add a night onto our reservation at the last minute without any issue!
More of a “Homey” Feel
Another fabulous reason to book an Airbnb instead of a standard hotel room is that it’ll feel more like home. This can make your travel feel less mundane, and make you feel more comfortable. Win win!
