My New Year’s style/beauty resolutions

Happy New Year, friends! It’s been such an amazing year.

I have so many goals for 2018, but I decided it would be fun to create some style/beauty resolutions.

Unfortunate as it is sometimes, self-confidence is often affected by the way we look to ourselves. So I strongly believe in treating our outside appearances in a way that uplifts our self-confidence. It doesn’t have to be expensive or take a lot of time. My resolutions are easy ones you can set, too!

1. Do my makeup more often. Being pregnant has zapped so much of my energy, and sometimes I just flat out don’t have the time or desire to put some makeup on. And putting makeup on is so simple! It really doesn’t take very much — a little mascara and concealer can make such a difference. And yes, I do still feel beautiful with a makeup-less, natural face, but I can feel so much more put together when I’m wearing some.

2. Figure out more ways to dress this bump! I’ll only still be pregnant through April (crossing fingers!) but I’ll be in my third trimester in about a month, and I can only imagine how tricky it’ll be to feel comfortable in clothes, let alone cute. I’m excited about the challenge!

3. Find more uses for the clothes/accessories I already have. (I’m off to a good start — all items in this outfit were ones I already had!) Having a baby and getting used to our Portland rent, I don’t have much of a clothing budget. And capsule wardrobes have always intrigued me, so I might try my hand at one!

4. Treat my skin better! This includes finding a skincare routine that works for me, and wearing sunscreen more often.
