Star Wars always has the answer

Happy Star Wars Day! OK let’s be real for a sec…Rey is bae. No doubt about it. (I have a MAJOR girl crush on Daisy Ridley. She’s total goals.) Also, this tee is seriously one of the comfiest I own. And if you know me, you know I’m all about that life.

So I thought it appropriate to share one of my favorite Star Wars quotes, since it is May 4th, after all.

The belonging you seek is not behind you, it is ahead.” -Maz (to Rey), The Force Awakens

I love this. It’s the perfect reminder to not focus on the things you can’t change, like the past.

I get very disappointed in myself when I dwell on the fact that I’m not married and don’t have kids yet. It’s a very important goal of mine, and it’s hard for me not to feel like it’s my fault it hasn’t happened yet. Times like these are when this quote, along with having an eternal perspective, are necessary.

I will eventually find my place — that belonging we all seek — when the time is right. I can look forward to it with hope and motivation, knowing that it is ahead, not behind me.

And now for some cute pics of me and these little gremlins! I live with my cousins and they seriously get me through the day every day. I get to practice mommy skills and the love I feel from them is empowering.

910R: Me? You want ME to help save Luke Skywalker? Well, all right…7118

xoxo, S

  1. The title of this post explains why Star Wars is so awesome. There are so many guiding, helpful, and moral insights that can be gleaned from these movies that I almost regard them with a spiritual awe. Case in point, even if you’re disappointed with the fact that you’re “not married and don’t have kids yet,” just look at Rey–she’s an awesome person, making a huge change in the galaxy, and I seriously doubt the dating life on Jakku was ever looking hopeful. As long as you’re like her, you’ll be doing just fine.
